05.13
A week or two back I ran acros an issue with OpenOffice.org when I upgraded to Ubuntu Feisty. I’m writing my internship report as we speak and it’s formatting became totally broken when I opened it with OpenOffice.org 2.2 included with Ubuntu Feisty. Since then I switched to LaTeX, not just because OOo was broken, but also because of it’s advanced (micro-) typografical features.
However today I wanted to create a report template for OpenOffice.org based on the recently released Liberation fonts, when I ran into that very same issue again. But now with a document created from scratch. It seems that assigning numbering styles to your headings seems to break the autogenerated table of contents. And fixing the table of contents seems to break the autonumbering, so these two features seem mutually exclusive from 2.2 on. I hope this will get fixed, very very soon. You can take a look at my issue here.
Update: It seems this wasn’t a regression, but a bugfix. I don’t fully understand it yet.
