The p-Code Machine

Today, I got hit for the second time by the Firefox Quasi-Fullscreen Bug. One day Firefox just behaves just fine, the other you start Firefox and suddenly it decides it needs to whole screen all for itself. And I’m not talking about the (F11) fullscreen mode. I’m talking about plain Firefox, fullscreen without the window border.

I noticed I could fix this by moving about my ~/.mozilla directory, but of course, this means losing some settings/cookies etc. Upon further investigation the ~/.mozilla/firefox/9dfj3oqk.default/localstore.rdf seems the culprit. Just delete this file, and the problem disappears… Please note 9dfj3oqk will probably be different for you…
