I have just pushed a new version of UFRaw to my PPA repository. This new version has an experimental patch, which I cobbled together myself, which detects your lens based on a raw’s EXIF data and corrects it’s distortion accordingly. This process is heavily dependant on Exiv2, which massively improved since 0.18, this should work excellently at least for Nikon, Canon and Pentax users, others maybe as well…

Currently this behaviour is not optional or configurable, so if you don’t want this, please don’t upgrade to this latest version (0.15-1~ppa3) of my UFRaw package. There are some other benefits in my recent packages, I’ve checked out new white balance data from CVS and included it into UFRaw-0.15. I’ve updated LensFun as well, with new entries for most new Nikon and Canon bodies.

A word of warning though, my latest version of UFRaw 0.15-1~ppa3 might be less stable than previous packages, so only upgrade if you’re feeling adventurous…
