The Makeover

I’ve used the fleur-de-lys look for my blog for some time now. A while back I even modified the Gallery’s Siriux theme to match it (mostly). However, the bright background color wasn’t particularly suited for my gallery. So a while back I decided I would go dark… Deciding to switch to a dark theme, and actually making it happen are two very different things. But this weekend I finally put myself to work, I started with the Pyrmont theme, converting it’s GIFs to PNGs, and made most of it’s grey’s neutral (equal RGB values). A tinted (non-neutral) background can actually influence our color perception while viewing a photograph in front of that background. Then I changed the font to Helvetica (Neue), and again modified Gallery’s Siriux theme to match it (mostly). My hacks on Siriux aren’t pretty, but it seems to work.

At this point everything it still a work in progress, but the most important stuff has already been done. I hope you’ll like it, even though most of you will be reading this through one of the Planet’s or maybe an RSS feed reader.
